Chocolate Caramel Tissue Case

The idea came out when I saw the green plain tissue case. I thought it would be nice if I can use my felt collection to make it eye catchy.

Actually I'm not so good on giving tutorial because I didn't use any patterns. Surely the steps were easy.

1. Measure the case and glue the cream felt as a base

2. Create a melting effect with caramel color

3. Create a strawberry and other creations to make the case more colorful

4. Voila! It took about less than an hour.

Why My Toddler Doesn't Want To Hear Me ?

I feel so headache when lately I realized that I often shout in my house not because I feel mad but I give instructions to my daughter again and again but she just won't cooperate with me.. even to her babysitter.

In our house, my husband and I make a rule to her whenever she misbehave we will put her to sit at the corner for at least 5 minutes. Well I think it doesn't work anymore now.

That's why again I am looking for information through internet and found good article from www.howkidsdevelop.com.

My toddler doesn't always listen to me. It's a struggle to get her to do what I say. There's no reasoning with her, especially once she's throwing a tantrum. How can I effectively discipline her?

Have both respect for your child and positive discipline in your disciplinary routines.

Communicate with your child after she's had a moment to calm down. Calmly review the behavior with your child and explain why it was wrong using age-appropriate words.
Be consistent and firm, yet kind.

Try these strategies to deal with problematic behavior:

Ignore mild behavior. If a child does not get attention for a behavior, he will often stop doing it.
Use distraction. Try redirecting your child to another behavior, toy, or activity. You can also use humor as a distraction tool.
Give warnings then follow through. For example, "Food stays on our plate. If it goes on the floor, I will take it away" (the warning). If the warning needs to be repeated more than twice, take the plate away and end the meal (the consequence).
Time-out. Some parents feel that brief 10-second time-outs can be effective for toddlers. Lift the child out of the situation, face the child away from the parent, and count aloud to 10. This removes your child from an activity, distracts them with counting, and introduces them to the concept of time-out.
"Calming time." Giving your child a quiet activity (drawing, coloring, puzzle pieces, etc) can calm her better than simply sitting (a time-out)
Stay in control. Be emotionally neutral and matter-of-fact. Avoid spanking, shouting, or pleading for cooperation. If you start using these techniques, it's okay to say that you made a mistake and to start over using a different technique. Remember to take a "calming time" to cool off when YOU need it too!
Trial and error. Remember that each child is different and your strategies may need to change for each child or as your child grows through different phases. Find what works specifically for you and your child.

The best strategies for toddlers are ones that prevent problem behavior from occurring:

Be playful. If you want your toddler to clean up her toys, get down and do it with her in a fun way. For example, have a "10-second tidy" where you see how much you can clean up in 10 seconds or sing a silly song like "Clean up clean up, everybody everywhere. Clean up clean up, everybody do your share." Feel free to make up your games and lyrics!
Say "no" less. Prevent battles by childproofing your home and removing objects your toddler isn't allowed to play with.
Problem-solve difficult situations. For example, if grocery shopping always leads to a major battle between you and your toddler, try to figure out what's going wrong. Are you going at the end of the day when your toddler is tired? Would some snacks or small toys in your bag help keep him well behaved?
"Time in." Make sure your child has at least 15 minutes a day of your complete attention. This reduces "attention-getting" behaviors and shows your child love and support.
Take care of yourself. As a parent, you need to find time for yourself so you have the energy to give the proper attention and discipline. Paying attention to your needs, feeling rested and being calm improves your relationships with others.

I am planning to do it start today.. Oh please Lord give me more patient.

How To Handle Ankle Sprain ?

Yesterday morning as usual I was going to office. Accidently I step on the rock and BAMM! fell down afterward and I thought something terrible happened on my left ankle. But I kept going because I had important meeting... *sigh. Well yes, three hours later my left ankle was swelling T_T ..

Thank God there's a medical clinic in office. A lady helped me using wheel chair and accompanied me to the lobby until I got a taxi cab.

In my country, if somebody got foot or ankle sprain they will do massage on the severe area. But I just can't do any massage tratment, it's not because I don't like massage but I think it would be dangerous for some muscle or ligaments.

I took sometime to look for information from website and I found interesting method when we have the ankle sprain. The keys are R.I.C.E : Rest - Ice - Compression - Elevation. I got it from www.aafp.org. It's a great information to share!

REST

Stay off the injured ankle to help it heals. This also helps prevent further injury. Your doctor might have you use crutches if walking is too painful. Stay off your feet most of the time until you can walk without pain.

ICE

Ice helps keep the swelling down. It also helps to reduce pain. Put an ice pack on the ankle for 15 minutes. Take the ice off for 10 minutes. Put ice back on for 10 minutes. Then use ice for 15 minutes at a time three times a day for two more days.

COMPRESSION

Compression (wrapping the ankle with a strip of elastic cloth) will help decrease swelling and support your ankle. You can use an elastic wrap from the drugstore, or get an air splint from your doctor. (Your doctor will show you how to use it.) Be careful not to wrap the ankle too tightly. That would slow the blood flow to your foot. Use t

he elastic bandage for 1 to 2 days.

ELEVATION

Keeping your foot raised helps decrease pain and swelling. When you elevate your ankle, try to keep it around the level of your heart. Lying on a couch with pillows under your foot is better than sitting in a chair with your foot on a footstool. Try to keep your foot elevated for 2 to 3 hours a day.

I did R.I.C.E method at first 24 hours and it is succeeds! also my parents gave me a traditional medicine "Minyak Tawon Makassar" it's like massage oil.

Today is the second day and I'm feeling better. I can walk again step by step even my daughter keep helping me whenever I want to go to the restroom. So sweet!

Chinese New Year Fashion Show - The event was held at my daugther's school. I thought it was just a game for kids but when I knew it was a real fashion show I found myself more exited than my daughter haha.. hunting dress here and there, red dress .. resonate with chinese new year colors - red.

Well I realized i can't push her that hard so I showed her how to walk, smile, and pose in a fun way and relax. It took two days before the event.

I remember that day how she walked in front of the teachers and judges, how she smile and gave the best pose i never seen before. She surprised me! She won it!

Playgroup World

It has been a year since my daughter became a student in the toddler class and start this month she entered the next step, Playgroup Class. Last time only went to school three times a week, now she goes to school every day. Yayy!

I noticed that the lessons are challenging, such as learning how to paint, how to draw, basic math, English, Mandarin language, etc.
Wow... is it to hard for you princess?
Don’t worry because when you with me, we nly play.. play.. and play.

Since my daughter categorized as active child, so surprised that at school she can sit still and also do her responsibilities given by her teachers. I am so proud of you.

Is backpack allowed for toddler ?

My daughter got a gift from her grandma, it was backpack. I never bought for her because I am worried the backpack can caused injury. She is toddler anyway and my babysitter always carry the bag.

Another lovely movie. Slightly similar to Devil Wears Prada movie but with a different love story. Style tells the intrigue that occurs in the fashion magazine industry.

I am glad watching their wardrobe it was very stylish. Another interesting thing is the soundtrack of the film sang by one of the cast which is Ryu Shi Won, entitled You & I.

Cast in Style are Ryu Shi Won as Jin Won Seo, Lee Ji Ah as Lee Seo Jung, Kim Hye Soo as Park Ki Ja, Lee Yong Woo as Kim Min Joon. They are artists who have received awards in Korean film industry.

Things I learned how to manage an active toddler is keep close to the child!

That evening I was not at home, I attended church’s event and went home at night. As usual the babysitter playing with my daughter at the park and also with friends of my daughter. They enjoyed run here-there but the babysitter not stay close enough with my daughter.

Suddenly my daughter tripped by her own sandals and fell right at the right eye. My child did not cry but she felt shock and became so silent. The babysitter went home in a rush with my child and gave a first aid. She washed the wound with mineral water and gave Betadine but several minutes after it emerged swelling in the wound area.

I was not there and the husband also was on the way home from the airport. Praise God, my husband's parents immediately came to my house and took my daughter into the hospital nears my house.

The doctor said that we should monitor the wound. We were a bit calm because she had no fever, vomiting or fainting. We gave a cream to treat the swelling. After five days recovery she had no complaints of any pain. Incredible!

Today she goes back to school because she miss her teachers and friends so much.

By the way, do you know Joel Osteen ?
He is the senior pastor and best-selling author of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas.
He says that he chooses to focus on the goodness of God rather than sin. A Week Without You

Next week my husband will fly to Bali for business and I pray everything will be just fine. Today I am going to pack the goods so that this weekend we can spend time with our daughter.

I got a packing list from www.OneBag.com. This website is amazing! I learn about what to do and not to do to avoid overbaggage. For example I usually roll the clothes so as not to wrinkle but I found another tips here.

Oh I want to go to Bali too! Enjoying the beach and shopping would be fun for me. But I think at home with my daughter will also be fun. I've planned something for my daughter to learn about while her dad not at home. Monday for painting, Tuesday for flashcards, Wednesday for drawing, Thursday for coloring, Friday for gardening and Saturday for cooking .. Cannot hardly wait!

Doing Felt Craft

In October 2009 I was wondering what can I make for Christmas decorations. I was browsing on the internet and seen many examples of Christmas decorations. Suddenly I fell in love with felt crafts. Cute, simple, and also challenging. I think doing craft need patience and accuracy.

For my first step I made Christmas tree accessories and also brooch which would look lovely worn by my daughter. The problem was I cannot do it fast! I have to draw the pattern, cut one by one and sewed them carefully.

A ha! I think I can sell it and yes it succeed! My family and friends bought the Christmas tree accessories.

Now I am trying to make small accessories e.g., dolls. When I feel ready, I will sell it again haha. I believe something that we do from our heart and with passion will be successful.

This month is the determination of my daughter to the next grade. The teachers told me that my daughter cannot take the next grade because she was not able to concentrate.
As a mother I felt so sad because I know my daughter is smart and also at home she shows remarkable development. Finally, I challenged the teachers to give me two weeks. I will show the difference!

My husband and I committed to give the best we can do for our lovely daughter and not forget to pray.
These are what we do :

1. Play flash cards - I collected images, arrange by categories and then printed.

2. Reduce watching TV - I stopped the Cable TV since local TV less attractive, at the end we rarely watch TV

3. Picture-book reading

4. Bedtime storytelling

5. Reduce snacks which contain high sugar level that can makes concentration decreased.

We are very pleased with the results even less than two weeks. The results were incredible. Our child is love reading, singing, coloring, and listening to stories.
Our daughter shows progress in school in front of teachers so they can see and admit there are good changes.

This month almost ended, finally we can register our child to the next level. Toddler to playgroup! Yayy!

Dare To Be Patient

Yesterday I wrote the article about Picky Eater. Today, I tried to do those advises and it worked!!
I believe the only key is dare to be patient with our kid.

Sometimes we force them a lot but now I realize it will not give you the best result. When I got angry, my daughter only absorbed the anger and started defensive. In the other hand when I followed what she want, she becomes more cooperative. Although the meal time is more than one hour at least she ate all.

Nowadays I have trouble to feed my two years old daughter. It happens for two weeks. She becomes picky eater. I have no idea how to handle this situation. considering this is my first time.

Strategies For Feeding The Picky Eater

Here are two strategies you can try to get a few extra calories and vitamins into your child:

Grazing - do not expect your toddler to sit down and eat a full meal three times a day. Instead, keep out a plate of finger foods (healthy ones) on his table. Let him graze on and off throughout the day.

Reverse psychology - at mealtime, have everyone sit down at the table and begin eating. Sit baby in the highchair, but don't give him any food. Pretend he is not even there. He will watch everyone else eat, and realize he's being left out. He may then ask for your food or reach for your plate. Do not have a plate of food ready for him, because if you then set a whole plate of food down in front of him, he may reject it. When he asks, give him a bite of food off of your plate (this can either be your own food or something you've prepared for him). Don't offer him a second bite until he indicates he wants more. Continue giving him bites while he is interested. Don't pay him too much attention. Act like he is interrupting you to get bites of food. The second you sense he is becoming a bit resistant, stop feeding him and go back to the ignoring phase. He may again start to feel left out and ask for more. Before baby realizes it, he has eaten twenty bites of food!

And what does baby perceive during this time? That he is in control. Some parents are afraid to let their babies control them. Well, in this situation, baby isn't trying to control you. He is learning to be in control of himself, and this builds better self-esteem and independence. This method works best when there is more than one person with you at the table. If you and baby are alone, then read a book or magazine. We are not suggesting you get in the habit of ignoring your child or reading during mealtimes when you could be interacting with him. But for this picky stage it is ok.

Feeding Strategies That Don't Work - What NOT To Do

Here are some feeding issues that some parents have tried, but may not be appropriate for toddlers at this age:

Insist that baby not make a mess - this too is unrealistic. Toddlers are supposed to make a mess while eating. That is how they learn. You can draw the line on making a mess where you feel it is appropriate, such as when baby begins throwing his food, it's time to get down.

Make baby eat what you have prepared - one of the most useful concepts parents learn is flexibility. Offer baby a variety of foods. Don't expect her to eat liver and onions! Baby may not feel like spaghetti that night. Offer her an alternative. Be careful not to give in too much, such as crackers and bread for dinner every night.

I am just wondering what kind of outfit would proper when i meet doctors to do product presentation. Oh yeah, let me tell you that I am working as PA and also system specialist. Sometimes I have to support my partner, marketing executive, to do presentation.

I usually see in hospital or clinic, some sales staff wearing an ordinary office look. Sigh.. No, I don't want to be ordinary. I am selling high-end stuff and I think in any situation you have only 90 seconds to create a good first impression. Research shows that 93% of the impact of a first impression is formed on non-verbal communication i.e. how we speak and how we look and behave. So as you stand in front of your audience you need to ensure you are giving the right signals.

Well, the key is comfort outfit.. Don't have to wear something formal. When you feel comfort and also equip yourself with great knowledge. No one will underestimate you.

Extremely busy! Yeah, I am kinda workaholic lately.
But now I decide to minimize this habit well consider that I have missed many gatherings with old friends. On the other hand, I had a paratyphoid twice!

Last week I visited Singapore and went to Dempsey Hill with my new friend, Yang. Actually, it was my first time. We truly need a car or motorcycle to be there because no bus or even MRT.. Honestly I was amazed when I saw that place. Same like Kemang in Jakarta.

We went to Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream and I choose New York Chocolate Ice Cream .. So nyummy!!! The good thing we came there late, so the place not to crowded.

After that he showed me Jones the grocer, a good place if you are looking for Australia’s premium food. My point of view about Dempsey Hill : nice place for hang out, meeting, dating ofcourse.

Today’s inspiration is to get a tidy desk because my desk is very disorganized. But where should I start?

I am somewhat tidy person but I think I still need a help from experienced person who know how to manage all things are in place. I am confused how to classify between one document with another document. Due to my office is not so big so I want to organize them favorably. Clean and tidy desk also help to reduce the disease such a pile of dust on the documents and books which can caused respiratory illness.

I was looking for tips how to manage the office desk through Google. I did it step by step and the result was excellent!

Don't Take It Seriously

I am an introvert person who cannot express angry easily. Possibly the phlegmatic factor makes me keep relax and not being paranoid even for some serious matters.

For the example when my husband lost his wallet, I could be angry only because he walked here and there and shouted .. For me, it’s so noisy and irritated.

I helped him but I can keep relax.I was mad not because he forgot where he puts the wallet but because I just felt disturbed.

Ego? I do not know.

I admit I am very easy going person. But at the other time I could be very firm.The combination between phlegmatic and choleric is really work on me!

Is it bad ? I don’t think so. It is fun to see my colorful family. My husband who is melancholic and choleric also my child who has a sanguine personality. Love you both.

I love boots and I am wondering every mom in the world must be at least one pair. I would like to share caring my boots to make it stay looking brand new.

Clean the boots after use by dusting it off with a damp cloth to remove loose dirt.

Do not use cleaning solutions that contain strong chemicals that can cause for the discoloration of the boot. It's better to use plain water.

Always dry out your boot completely after cleaning or before storing.

Honestly I never wear my black boots in work to office. Is it appropriate ? I work as personal assistant in medical company and we can wear casual suit on Friday. Any suggestion ?

I used to read a newspaper when I was single and stayed with parents. But when I got married, no more newspaper. My hubby and I to busy to spend our day with working and have some fun. When we got home we just wanted to spend time together. once again without newspaper.

My consciousness start runaway from the reality. I watch TV series everyday! No newspaper. no CNN.. Yeah just read some stories in Internet. I think it helps anyway.

Last month I met my Mom who really update about many things. Suddenly She spoke about one case, and you know what. I cannot reply her. Hahaha It's not a good conversation. I know nothing. T_T

Relax ... no more silly face now. Since I have a blog, I MUST read or see something valuable to share. Yeah, makes me feel smart.
At least I learn something. I cannot post something fresh if I do not know What Happen Outside and I cannot just sit all day in front of my laptop and having no relationship with neighbor.

How to say No ?

Entering 20 months, I found that my girl starts copy what I'm doing. Yeah, my girl become "cutie copy cat" .. Sometimes me as a new mom, I have no idea how to say "NO" or "Don't do that" without make her cry. Please tantrum go away!

Then I realize this is Mommy's world! I have to pass it.
Remember the way she looks at me, the way she says "Ma-ma", how she runs and sit beside me. It feels just great...

I found an article which helps me to say "NO" creatively. Hope it will help you too.

"The Importance of No"

The word "no" figures in countless conversations between parents and children. Should every sentence start with the dreaded word, or are there alternate ways of getting the message across?

Any parent of a young child knows that you start off more than a few conversations with the word "No."

As far as your little one is concerned he's just trying to get to know his world. But as far as you're concerned, your child is secretly trying to give you a nervous breakdown.

"No, you can't put Dad's sneaker in your mouth." Or "No, you can't eat that pencil." Or "No, I don't care what Grandma said, you can't be carried everywhere, sometimes your feet will have to touch the ground." Or my personal favorite: "No! Stop that! The cat does not want to wrestle."

Safety First

According to pediatrician Dr. Wil Wilkoff, author of How to Say No to Your Toddler, the most important thing parents can do when it comes to disciplining their toddler is to put their child's safety first. "It boils down to a safety issue. If you only need one reason to learn to tell your toddler 'no' effectively, it's to keep your child safe," he says.

Having said that, if a parent starts and ends every conversation with their toddler by saying "No," the word may start to lose its weight. After a while it becomes clear that it's best to pick the battles. Dr. Wilkoff suggests that parents write down the behaviors that are most troubling to them and prioritize the worst ones. "The most unsafe behavior should top the list, followed by the behaviors that you find the most disturbing."

Be Creative

There are also positive ways to get your point across without becoming Mommy-the-Tyrant. One way to balance the negative is by creative alternatives. Instead of constantly saying "No", offer your toddler a choice. Try a simple tactic, like offering to trade him a ball for the TV remote control, to using more elaborate alternatives such as telling your little one that she has a real sense of style, then dubbing her the family's Chief Sock-Wrangler. This job entails helping you round up all the matching socks as the laundry comes out of the dryer. Make sure to applaud a job well done. This is a tried and true tactic used by public relations professionals everywhere, and epitomized by Tom Sawyer, when he convinced his friends to paint his aunt's fence for him. It's the rare toddler who's up on Mark Twain, so you're probably safe with this tactic.

Stop signs and stop-sound signals can also help enormously, as many parents unwittingly master the no-look and the no-voice signals. Children pick up on their parents' body language fairly quickly, and using a certain look that immediately conveys, "Stop" can be an invaluable tool for a parent. Also being able to tailor the intensity and tone of your voice to convey "No" without directly saying the word is a handy skill. Your child will soon learn which words carry more weight and power, and you'll obtain a faster response.

Many children may respond better to "Stop" than to "No." That is often the case with younger children. An older toddler may find it fun to hear you say, "Freeze" when you want him to stop, and that's fine, as long as he also understands that you actually do want him to stop whatever he was doing or was about to do.

However you choose to discipline your child, always be cognizant that your goal is to stop a specific behavior, not to stunt a child's natural curiosity. Try to convey that you disapprove of the action, not of the child. It is crucial for parents to learn to discipline without damaging a child's feelings of self-worth and self-esteem.

The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry maintains that it's important to have logical consequences for misbehavior, as it helps children learn that they are accountable for their actions, without damaging their self-esteem.

The Academy offers these tips for effective discipline:

Speak to your child as you would want to be spoken to if someone were reprimanding you.
Model positive behavior. "Do as I say, not as I do" seldom works.
Be clear about what you mean. Be firm and specific.
Make sure that what you ask for is reasonable, given the child's age and stage of development.
Whenever possible, consequences should be delivered immediately, should relate to the rule broken, and should be short enough in duration that you can move on again to emphasize the positives.
It may seem time-worn, but time-outs work. "Time-out is the most effective and safest punishment to use with a toddler and it makes the most sense," says Dr. Wilkoff./li>

Rest is Key

Dr. Wilkoff also reminds parents that well-rested children are better-behaved children, and that the secret to more attentiveness and fewer tantrums may lie with more sleep. If you're continually faced with a defiant, naughty toddler, you may be dealing with a child who needs a nap or an earlier bedtime. Children under six years of age should get a cumulative total of 12-13 hours of sleep within a 24-hour period. Ideally, that would look like a 7 p.m. bedtime, with a 7 a.m. wake-up time, and a 30-60 minute nap after lunch. Tired children are also the most accident-prone.

Another overlooked but no less important part of having a well-behaved child is making sure you get enough sleep. While most parents just assume that lack of sleep comes with the territory when raising a toddler, the fact is that a well-rested parent is less likely to snap or lash out at a misbehaving child and more likely to be patient and consistent with his or her discipline style. Consistency is key. It reduces resistance and testing behaviors. It will also cut down on the amount of time it takes a toddler to learn new rules.

Dr. Wilkoff believes that the commitment to safety, follow-through, and communication that you establish now with your toddler will reverberate well into his teen years. Which brings up another great resource for parents who genuinely feels at their wits' end in dealing with a defiant toddler: consult the family practitioner or pediatrician. These physicians are often well-versed in child behavioral issues and can offer expert advice and suggestions on how to handle a toddler who won't take "No" for an answer.

I feel aweful nowadays .. I have a toothache.
The doc have to take a pic first. Here we go...

Hahahahaha... ofcourse it's not me!
Yesterday I went to the dentist and she did nothing yet because I can't even open my mouth. Yeah, 'lil bit swelling inside here! - the tooth said :(

She gave me some medicine .. antibiotic amoxillin, etc. Uh--ahh.. really irritate me!

She asked me to back again next week to take a pic, and then we will know what i should do then. The doc was nice.
Probably it's about widsom teeth. Hopefully i don't have to take any surgery .. Cross finger!

Since this morning I search any information about wisdom teeth - just in case hmm.

Let's Say Thank You

FABULOUS !!

That's what I feel as a young mom witnessing the growth of my "princess toddler" day by day.

Last night I bought. This is the title " Ayo Bilang Terima Kasih " (Let's Say Thank You).

While I read the book, She looked enjoy pointing the pictures... For your information, the story is about mommy elephant and her daughter :) Indonesian language elephant = gajah
I thought she did not really listen to it because she just fell asleep.

Suddenly this morning before I went to the office, she ran to me bringing the book and she said "Ma Acih" (shortcut form Terima Kasih - Thank You) and then "Ajah.. Ajah..." (shortcut from Gajah - Elephat).. Wow! She did listened to me although She felt sleepy.. Cool!

Very touched!!

I love you Odeli.. and I am very proud of you.

Start Potty Training

I read many articles about potty training and also has bought a potty also. Start this month i give potty training to my Odeli, considering that she's 1.5 years old so i give her a try.

At the first time i sat her on the potty and she just looked at me, pulled my face and so on .... hmm nothing happened. Still patient to wait but it's not work and then she just grab the water inside the potty :)

It's continue in a week after and sometimes i feel bored to continue because one thing for sure I Have To Wait .. and my eyes don't want to cooperate with my heart. Yeah, always look at the diapers! A-ha!

But since then i realize this is very important for me and her. I learn something "Just don't push your kid" It will happen and be patient :)

Build a Foundation (Charity)

A foundation is a legal categorization of nonprofit organizations. Foundations may also and often have charitable purposes. This type of nonprofit organization may either donate funds and support to other organizations, or provide the sole source of funding for their own charitable activities. (wikipedia.com)

Yesterday I met my friend who offered me to join him build a foundation (charity). Actually it's not a big foundation but i'm interest about the vision and mission. We will donate funds, clothes, f & b, and so on. It's interesting but also challenging.. We have to be consistent when we involve with this kind of thing.

We might find there are lots of foundation around us who have a vision to help people in need. We don't have to be someone who sit in the organization, but at least we can join their program to help someone else. Ofcourse we have to observe about the foundation we'd like to join.

We receive bless and mercy from God, so why don't we share to other people ?
it's up to you guys.... Remember not only about money but you can give your time, energy, pray, etc.

I only now about 1 foundation because my dad currently join their activities.. Yayasan Obor Berkat Indonesia (OBI). You can browse them by search engine.
In my opinion, OBI have a great programmes and they consistent to implement their programmes continually.

Yippy!! It's my new hobby ..
While walking around in the mall, I saw one shop "Hobby Craft" and visited them. The shop sell cross stitch stuff and also give a clay course. I choosed cross stitch!

I'm on fire to finish all and zzzzzupph! I love it! My husband told me " Darling, please don't get addict "

I have no idea where the power comes from; do this and that. It just shows up and when it comes i'll pray "God, what should i do? Anything I can create, sell, and help someone else"

We'll see what will happen next but today is CROSS STITCH :)

In my experience, the two important things you should have are reliable and honesty..
As personal assistant you manage your boss stuff from business world to personal life. Well you have to know how to manage your job specially your mouth! Just don't speak to much about your boss.
Also you have to be honest if your boss trust his/her money. Somehow PA has responsibilities to manage budget, bank account, even cash money..
So i think honesty is quite important hhmm?

The scope of the PA's role can be extensive and additional duties may include:

carrying out specific projects and research;
responsibility for accounts and budgets;
taking on some of the manager's responsibilities and working more closely with management;
being involved in decision-making processes.

Some PAs do all the secretarial work themselves, while others take responsibility for recruiting and training junior staff and delegate some of their less demanding and confidential work to them. (www.prospects.ac.uk)

Tips Membawa Bayi atau Balita ke Restaurant

"Odeli... sabar sebentar ya mama sudah pesen makanan lagi dimasak .. sementara menunggu kita makan puding coklat dulu ya. Eh, disini ga ada puding mas? Ya udah kita kesebelah yuk beli puding" (ga prepare dweh)

"Yah.. diapernya penuh ya. Ganti dulu deh" (dalam hati : acara makan jadi molor dweh zzzzz!)

"Odeli makan dulu ya sambil main sumpit nich .. sumpitnya lucu ya " (hiks.. sejak kapan sumpit itu lucu?? maksa dweh gw terpaksa gara-gara lupa bawa mainan)

Sebagai orang tua yang masih pemula banget dan punya anak toddler emang mesti punya beribu-ribu akal untuk buat acara makan di restaurant dengan anak nyaman dan lancar .. car.. carrr....

Sambil cari sumber sana sini dapet juga tips untuk bawa bayi atau toodler ke restaurant .. yuk mari :

Sebaiknya pergi ke restaurant saat jam makan anak pada normalnya
Kalau bisa reserve dulu atau bisa tanya waiting list kalau ternyata ngantri
Cek diaper! Sebaiknya kalau sudah penuh diganti dulu.
Cari restaurant yang punya booster seat / high chair. Kalau restaurant yang kita datangi tidak punya tempat duduk anak ya mending cari yang lain ajah atau ...
Stand by tempat duduk portable and taruh di mobil. Jaga-jaga kalau diperlukan.
Usahakan cari tempat duduk yang agak sepi, maksudnya tidak di tengah-tengah restaurant yang lagi ramai. Biar kitanya juga comfort khan nyuapin si anak.
Atur-atur peralatan di atas meja makannya.. Segala benda tajam seperti garpu, SUMPIT, tusuk gigi, dsb disingkirin dulu..
Bawa makanan kecil dari rumah atau siapkan sebelum masuk restaurant. Karena kalau kita order suka lama tuch mesti di masak dulu. Jangan lagi terjadi pengalaman puding coklat seperti di atas..
Siapkan buku anak atau mainan untuk bermain selama sang orang tua makan (inget bukan SUMPIT ya Monica!)
Kasih tip buat waitress yang bersihkan meja kita termasuk kekacauan yang mungkin terjadi di bawah tempat duduk si anak. Imagine your self :)

Barang-barang yang pasti diperlukan yaitu :

Botol minum
Booster Seat
Makanan anak
Mainan anak

Tips Bermain Keyboard (Teknik Dasar)

FINGERING (hand and finger forms, relaxation of arms & shoulders)
Latihan untuk fingering ini, ditujukan untuk supaya, kita sebagai musisi, khususnya pemain piano atau keyboard, posisi jari dan tangan kita saat bermain ada dalam posisi yang benar. Juga untuk bentuk jari-jari kita saat bermain di atas tuts piano atau keyboard ada dalam posisi sempurna. Latihan jari ini mencakup Tangga Nada dan Cadence.

TOUCHING (touch of the notes, legato-staccato, phrasing, dynamics and expression)
Latihan untuk touching ini ditujukan untuk supaya, kita sebagai musisi, khususnya pemain piano atau keyboard. Kita mengerti interpretasi kita dalam bermain music. Gak cuman yang sekedar bermain music, tapi music itu yang harus keluar dari hati kita. Kita mengetahui dimana kita harus bisa maen keras atau lembut. Bermain dengan ada tekanan atau nyambung atau putus-putus dan atau dengan aksen yang tepat. Ada dinamika, feeling dan ekspresi.

RHYTHM dan TEMPO
Latihan untuk rhythm and tempo ini ditujukan untuk supaya, kita sebagai musisi, ini mencakup untuk semua instrument. Baik sebagai pemain drums, bass, guitar, percussions atau juga piano dan keyboard. Kita perlu mengetahui harga notes, ketukan & rhythm pattern. Kita perlu tau juga tentang tempo yang benar.

Rhytmic dalam bermain music (comping). Ada soul atau groove dalam bermusic. Harus ada “nyawa” dalam kita bermain dalam 1 band. Kita harus tau juga tentang TIME SIGNATURE (lagu itu dimainkan dalam ketukan 2/4, ¾, 4/4, 3/8, 6/8 etc)

HARMONY (chords progression, voicing and accompaniment)
Latihan untuk harmony ini ditujukan untuk supaya kita bisa lebih kaya dalam mengembangkan pola chords yang kita pakai dalam sebuah lagu. Mengembangkan juga bunyi yang dihasilkan dari chords yang kita mainkan.

Dan juga untuk memperluas cara kita bermain dalam konteks kita mengiringi seorang penyanyi atau jemaat. Karena dengan kita bermain dalam harmonisasi yang bagus, maka akan tercipta suatu kesatuan yang baik. Dengan mempunyai pengetahuan harmoni yang baik, kita dapat membuat aransemen yang pasti bisa lebih enak. Mengetahui posisi kita sebagai musisi, lebih sebagai pengiring!

READING
Latihan ini lebih ditujukan untuk mereka yang belum bisa membaca not balok atau combo partitur. Diharapkan mereka di kemudian harinya bisa untuk membaca partitur not balok atau combo part. Mereka mengenal Treble Clef (kunci G) dan Bass Clef (kunci F). Mereka mengetahui tentang KEY SIGNATURE (ada berapa sharp (#) atau flat (b) lagu itu dimainkan). Dengan kita melihat tanda-tanda tersebut dengan sendirinya kita sudah tau kalau lagu itu dimainkan di tangga nada apa. Jelas itu akan sangat mempermudah kita dalam bermusik.

Les Keyboard

Dari sejak SD sudah dimulai dengan les Organ sampai level akhir (pamer nich? situ ok ? hahaha), kalo inget bela-belain naik bus metromini untuk menuju ke tempat les ditemenin sama pembantu trus lanjut di Yamaha Sincere Music Cinere sampai step 8 Electon. Inget banget waktu itu masih kelas 1 SMP. Kata gurunya bisa lanjut ke advance and nantinya bisa ngajar hehehe kecil-kecil jadi guru. Seneng kalau les organ bareng sama sohib gw, Ella lo kalo baca blog gw jangan mesem-mesem aja hahaha.
Tapi ya ga gw lanjutin..

Rasanya ada yang kurang karena biasa les organ and then ga ngeles-ngeles lagi. Akhirnya les piano pop & jazz belajar 1 tahunan trus gabung di komunitas gereja dweh sampai sekarang main keyboard.
Seneng juga ternyata sohib gw si Ella juga aktif main keyboard di komunitas gerejanya.. :)

Puji Tuhan ada aja yang minta les keyboard walaupun gw bukan maestro hehe.. tapi kalau Tuhan udah kasih talenta ya jangan buat diri sendiri aja dong.. Kita harus jadi berkat juga buat yang lain.

Gw kasih les keyboard hanya hari Sabtu berhubung hari biasa pulang malem .. masih kerja kantoran khan ..

Boys Over Flowers

Inilah para pemain dari serial Boys Over Flower (Hana Yori Dango).. Meteor Garden versi Korea.
Emang dasarnya saya suka sama film-film Korea ya langsung kepincut deh sama film yang satu ini.
Menurut saya jalan ceritanya ya sama aja dengan Meteor Garden tapi yang bikin beda adalah ciri khas fashion Korea yang bikin saya 'ga bosen nonton film ini.

Pulang kantor selesai beres-beres and nidurin anak langsung stand by depan TV sambil dinner :) resikonya ya rebutan remote TV sama suami yang suka banget nonton Asian Food Channel sedangkan saya pilih KBS channel dong.

Well buat yang belum pernah nonton Boys Over Flower, berikut ini para pemainnya :

Hmm..mmm enak ya nyanyi bareng sama temen-temen sambil rangkulan.. apalagi kalo dah lama banget ga nongkrong bareng wuiddiiihhhh rumpi dweh ga cowok ga cewek..

Tapi gimana menurut kamu bahwa friendship is everlasting ?
Pasti pernah denger kalo ada yang bilang ... "Hari gini lo mesti punya network dimana-mana biar bisa survive or even nerobos untuk hal-hal yang berhubungan sama kerjaan, proyek, blablabla .... "

Jadi sebenernya kalau kita membangun friendship sudah pasti kita membangun network.. tapi kalo kita membangun network belum tentu kita perlu berfriendship ria bukan? Well, sebeneranya bergantung dari purpose kita masing-masing mo dijadiin personal ato sebatas kerjaan.

Kalo ngeliat dari foto diatas sich, saya kangen banget sama orang-orangnya secara dweh kita bersama tumbuh dalam wadah yang sama yaitu komunitas yang suka bermusik and bernyanyi tapi keempat pria tersebut dah keluar dari komunitas lama karena dapet berkat Tuhan untuk masuk komunitas baru hahaha yang pasti berkat Tuhan selalu yang terbaik buat anak-anakNya.

Kumpul-kumpul bahas lagu-lagu yang lagi up-to-date, band yang lagi happening, yang main alat musik pada minta satu sama lain partitur yang lengkap.. kl bisa pake not balok kenapa ngga' :)

Fiuh.. makin ditulis makin kangen sama mereka.. Kenyataannya dengan friendship yang sudah dibangun sekian lama, kalau ada acara-acara bisa minta bantuan mereka hehe back to "network" ..

Semuanya berharga .. tapi bisa juga sia-sia kalau kita bergaul sama orang yang tidak tepat, meaning kasih input negatif ke kita. That's would be exhausted hm?
